CEO's Note - 28 June 2024

I’m so pleased to announce that we have more than 30 speakers lined up for our third annual Resources Energy and Industry Innovation Forum (REIIF), being held in Dubbo from 6-8 August 2024.

The Forum brings together key industry leaders, regional stakeholders, and investors to discuss the future of resources, mining technologies, renewable energy innovation, world-class industry practice, and future skills and opportunities for the Orana and Central West regions of NSW.

We have a jam packed agenda which also features workshops and a regional tour of innovative projects occurring in the area.

The Forum will not only investigate new and emerging initiatives but also look at how we engage the next generation to come on board the journey. I’m especially excited to hear from a group of doctoral training centre students from the Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources (NIER) who are working in the field and will outline their innovative thesis’. These bright minds will showcase and pitch their ideas to the audience.

Another drawcard to the forum is our keynote speaker for the evening session global influencer Simon Kuestenmacher, who is ranked as one of the world’s Top 10 influencers in data visualisation. Simon will educate and entertain as he discusses demographic and global trends that are shaping Australia today and into the future.

The focus on this year’s event is its title with four sessions based around Resources, Energy, Industry and Innovation. The session speakers are relevant to our region showcasing what is happening close to home and making a difference in our part of the world. The three-day event presents an excellent opportunity for attendees to connect with industry experts and explore the latest innovations and practices in the energy and resources industries.

It’s important that regional NSW industry, business and the community come on board the low-emission journey and are prepared for the change that is coming. The Resources Energy and Industry Innovation Forum provides that link - as a low emissions future will require a change in most sectors of the economy and will affect all businesses – small, medium and large.

Lastly I would like to thank our event sponsors - The Association of Mining and Energy Related Councils (MERC) NSW, The NSW Minerals Council, and the NSW Energy & Resources Knowledge Hub - without your support RDA Orana would not be able to provide these events locally.
