Congratulations to new Orana LGA Councillors
I would like to congratulate all our recently elected local government representatives from across the 12 areas covered by RDA Orana. We work closely with local government who are on the ground, working and supporting their communities.
Representing and advocating for the needs and wants of our community, as well as balancing those needs and wants against the limitations of budgets and resources, is a challenging but rewarding task. It is great to see a mix of new and experienced Councillors bringing continuity and new perspectives to the regions they serve.
Inaugural Orana Youth Forum - exhibitors wanted
While I’ve been talking about the Orana Youth Forum for some time, I’m pleased to announce the opening of the forum to exhibitors in the region from today.
We are targeting the Orana key industry sectors of agriculture, new energy, mining, training and education, health and trades.
The aim of the event is to bring together students from across the Orana region with businesses, training providers, employment services, tertiary institutions, government agencies and youth support services to provide a greater understanding for our young people about the opportunities available to them.
Filling skills needs and building our future workforce is a priority for Regional Development Australia Orana and we hope the Orana Youth Forum will provide our young people with information about the current opportunities and pathways available to them.
Our platinum sponsor is Energy Co with ACEREZ and Gold sponsors Tilt Renewables, Brewarrina Shire Council and NSW Mining. There are also other sponsorship opportunities available.
To find out more, read through the Orana Youth Forum Sponsorship and Exhibition Prospectus or visit the event website for more information. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any further information.

Moorambilla Voices - Riversong 2024: The Spirit of Water
More than 280 children from 60 towns across NSW took part in Riversong 2024: The Spirit of Water, which was held last weekend in Dubbo as part of Moorambilla Voices annual gala performance. This year's concert Riversong 2024: The Spirit of Water featured singing, dancing and Taiko drumming. The performance was a powerful interpretation of our shared love of and connection to this awe-inspiring Country, and in particular, the underground water system and energy, from Mutawintj connecting back to the Warrumbungle river systems showcased in the 2023 program. Well done to everyone involved, our wonderful students, their parents and families and, of course, the Moorambilla team who have guided and supported them throughout their journey.
