CEO's Note - 2 August 2024

After months of planning our Annual Resources, Energy & Industry Innovation Forum (REIIF) will be held next week from Tuesday 6 August to Thursday 8 August. We’ve secured an amazing line up of talented and insightful speakers who will provide an update as to what is occurring in our region, across the state, country and the world in the resources and energy sector.

The three-day event presents an excellent opportunity for attendees to connect with industry experts and explore the latest innovations and practices in the energy and resources industries. The Forum will allow participants to identify opportunities and build connections to encourage collaboration on the big issues affecting communities now and in the future.

Our universities are playing a key role in the development of new initiatives and we will have on hand representatives from the University of Newcastle, University of NSW and Charles Sturt University all of which are involved with ground breaking research which they will share.

There will also be a strong focus on how our local communities can benefit from the change occurring. A low emissions future will require a change in most sectors of the economy and will affect all businesses – small, medium and large. Sessions will revolve around employment and jobs for the future.

There will be a range of innovative success stories that are occurring including the Cobar BioHub project which is turning invasive native scrub into a valuable resource, The Yurruga project which is Australia’s first Indigenous corporation servicing the solar energy circular economy market and the University of Newcastle Doctoral Training Centre PhD candidates will pitch their innovative thesis ideas addressing the challenges and needs of the future energy and resources sector.

Our ticket sales close today at midnight. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to attend the only regional forum of its kind.
